Inwood Fourth Festivities Start Tuesday Night, Continue Through The Fourth

Inwood, Iowa — The annual Independence Day festivities start early in Inwood and continue all the way through the Fourth.

Organizers tell us the first event is tonight (6/28), when Security Savings Bank presents a Community Appreciation Picnic. That’s from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foote park.

On Wednesday night, June 29th, it’s a Cruise-In and Car Show & Shine. There will be food, music, cool cars, and burnouts from 6 to 9 p.m. on Main Street.

Saturday night, July 2nd is Family Fun Night. Organizers say it’s hosted by Inwood’s finest Fire and Rescue Team, and the night will be filled with family, friends, food, fun, and laughter. It runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the park.

On Sunday, there’s a Community Worship Service in the park from 6 to 7 p.m.

Of course, the big day is Independence Day Monday, when festivities will kick off with a Kiwanis Breakfast at the Community Center. The Road Race starts at 8. They’ll have both a 5k and a 1-mile. The parade starts at 10 with a kiddie parade, with the main parade to follow. A Vendor Fair runs from 9 to 2 at the park. On Monday afternoon, they’ll have inflatables, food, and refreshments at the park. A 3-on-3 basketball tournament starts at noon. From 2 to 4, there’s Bingo and a Cake Walk at the community center.

The main event is the derby on the night of the Fourth. The gates open at 4:30 p.m. with the derby starting at 5. And of course, the fireworks will follow.
