KIWA Celebrates 60th Anniversary Year With Donation To P.D. K9 Fund

Sheldon, Iowa — In 2021 KIWA Radio is celebrating our 60th anniversary, six decades of service to Sheldon and Northwest Iowa. As part of our celebration, we wanted to give something back to Sheldon, a town that has given us so much support over our 60 years of operation.

Finding out that both Sheldon’s City Manager Sam Kooiker and Police Chief Scott Burtch were interested in starting a K9 Unit we liked the idea and decided to donate up to $15,000 in matching funds to help make the Sheldon K9 Unit a reality.  Now that the K9 fund has reached $15,000 the staff and management of KIWA Radio is making good on its pledge to donate $15,000.

Additional funds are still needed to reach the startup goal of $40,000.  Those businesses or individuals interested in making a tax-deductible contribution can drop of a check at the Sheldon Police Department, call the Police Department and ask for Chief Scott Burtch or Officer Eric Meineke, or mail your contribution to:
