Legislative Forum Addressing Children’s Issues Is Tuesday

Northwest Iowa Early Childhood EducationMilford, Iowa — A pair of state legislators from our area will be on hand for an Early Childhood Legislative Forum Tuesday morning (December 20th) in Milford.

Early Childhood Iowa: Lakes Region serving Clay, Dickinson, O’Brien and Osceola counties will be hosting the forum from 10 AM to 11 AM Tuesday morning at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1305 Okoboji Ave, Milford. The meeting is located on the north side of the building with parking in the west lot.

According to organizers of the event, Senator David Johnson and Representative John Wills will be attending. But they say Senator Randy Feenstra and Representative Megan Jones have other obligations, however, both have requested materials from the forum.

Early Childhood Iowa: Lakes Region says they’ve invited 31 agency representatives and 23 Child Care and Preschool Directors to attend the event, and meet with their area legislators.  They say that, despite the busy season, they hope to have a good turnout to represent the children and families in northwest Iowa.

Organizers say the current issues concerning Child Mental Health and Child Care/Early Education will be the topics of discussion at Tuesday’s Legislative Forum, which is open to the public.
