Northwest Iowa — Patchy light snow will be possible through the morning and may linger into the afternoon.
Accumulations will generally be less than an inch with the higher amounts in parts of southwest MN and northwest IA. Once this moves through a slow warming trend will settle in with highs in the 40s likely next week.
Temperatures will gradually warm up this week. Despite that fact, temperatures will remain well below seasonal averages today through Friday with high temperatures in the single digits today and teens and 20s Thursday and Friday. Overnight low temperatures and wind chills will be below zero at times through Friday morning. Warmer temperatures arrive this weekend, especially Sunday and into early next week.
