Little Rock Fire Department Responds To Truck Fire Call

Little Rock, Iowa– A truck wheel was destroyed in a fire on Monday, December 12, 2016 near Little Rock.

According to Little Rock Fire Chief Joe Schilling, about 6:50 AM, the Little Rock Fire Department was called to the report of a truck fire at L26 and Highway 9, just south of Little Rock.

The chief says the fire department saw the semi on fire as they approached the scene but the fire appeared to be limited to one of the back wheels of the tractor portion of the semi. He says they used fire extinguishers to fight the fire.

Schilling says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire appeared to have been hot equipment due to a mechanical malfunction. He says something had locked up.

He says crews were on scene for about an hour.
