Ireton, Iowa — A Rock Valley man and an Avon, SD man were taken to the hospital after an accident near Ireton.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, 49-year-old Michael Jonkers of Avon was driving a 2012 Volkswagen southbound on B46, four miles north of Ireton. Forty-eight-year-old Timothy Van Tilburg was southbound on K30 in a 2001 Peterbilt semi.
The report says that Jonkers failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of B46 & K30. They say Van Tilburg struck the Volkswagen in the front passenger side.
The Ireton Ambulance took Van Tilburg and Jonkers to Sioux Center Health Hospital.
Damage amounts were not available.
