MOC-FV Schools May Build Between Orange City And Alton

Orange City, Iowa — The MOC/Floyd Valley Community School District may be building a new school between Orange City and Alton.

MOC/Floyd Valley Superintendent Russ Adams tells us about it.

Adams says their current Orange City Elementary is old but has been well-taken-care-of. He says the main issue is actually space.

Again, as Adams said, they are aiming for a bond referendum vote on March 3rd, 2020. He addresses the property tax question.

He says he can’t give a timeline with a lot of accuracy as the site still isn’t worked out. He says the ideal timeline would include a move-in for the 2022 school year, but it could also be in 2023, depending on how things go. According to Adams, meetings are being planned at which people can find out more about the project.
