NCC Receives Grant For Career Academy

Sheldon, Iowa — Northwest Iowa Community College has received a one-million-dollar Career Academy Incentive Fund grant.

Leah Murphy, the Dean of Arts, Science, Business, and Health at NCC, tells us the Career Academy’s two year program college classes are like those that students may take through the high school, making it a no charge program for the high school students. She tells us about the goal of the grant.

Murphy says the building that was purchased by NCC to open the Career Academy is where Northwest AEA was located on North Main Avenue in Sioux Center. Murphy explains how this program will benefit students.

Murphy says there is a lot of excitement about the Career Academy.

The Career Academy will begin its program this fall. For more information you can visit Northwest Iowa Community College.
