NCC To Offer Scrubs Camp Again For Young People Interested In Health Care

Sheldon, Iowa — Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon is once again making plans for what has become their annual “Scrubs Camp.”

Northwest Iowa Community College Associate Dean of Health, Kevin Miller tells us the camp is the result of trying to get more people interested in a career in the healthcare industry.

He tells us what the camp entails.

Miller says there is a shortage of providers, nurses, and technicians in the healthcare field.

On a related note, the City of Sheldon could use some more volunteers for their ambulance service (SCAT), as well as their fire department and Emergency Management Agency. City personnel tell us you can learn more at Volunteers needed – Emergency Services | City of Sheldon

Miller made his comments on Tuesday on the KIWA Talk of the Town Program, which can be heard on weekday mornings at 8:30 on KIWA-FM 105.3. We also post a podcast of every Talk of The Town Program, and you can find those by clicking here.
