Rock Rapids, Iowa — A new bond has been set for an Inwood man who pled not guilty to felony sex charges, was released on bond, and was re-arrested.
According to court records, 41-year-old Perry VandeKieft was arrested after deputies say he attempted to contact his wife, the mother of the victim. The no-contact order in the case does not allow for contact between VandeKieft and his wife or his daughter.
VandeKieft’s father, Tom VandeKieft was also at the hearing, requesting to have the cash bond he previously posted on his son’s behalf be returned to him.
The prosecution asked that VandeKieft be held without bond asserting he has violated the Court’s previous orders and is then a threat to the alleged victim. VandeKieft asked that an appropriate bond be issued with surety provisions and that he be allowed to live with his father in Canton, S.D.
District Judge Carl Petersen amended the current bond to $50,000 cash or surety, however, he ordered that VandeKieft shall not leave the state of Iowa under any circumstances, and the no-contact order remain in full effect.
He also ordered that the previous cash bond be returned to the Defendant’s Father, Tom Vandekieft.
