Nine Die In South Dakota Plane Crash

Chamberlain, South Dakota — Nine people are dead after a plane crash near the Missouri River in Central South Dakota.

A small plane with a dozen people on board crashed on Saturday in rural South Dakota near Chamberlain. Brule County State’s Attorney Theresa Maule Rossow says she has no information as to the cause of the crash.


Maule Rossow says the emergency responders did not have an easy time of it.


She says three people survived.


Maule Rossow says the plane took off from the Chamberlain, South Dakota airport and was on its way to the Idaho Falls, Idaho Regional Airport. Chamberlain is about 140 miles west of Sioux Falls on I-90.
