No New COVID Cases Or Deaths In Our Area This Week

Northwest Iowa — No positive COVID test results were reported in the past seven days in the O’Brien, Osceola, Sioux, and Lyon County area, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health.

In Sioux County, the zero number represents a decrease of one. The other three counties didn’t have any positive tests last week either, so those results are unchanged from the previous week.

There were no additional COVID-related deaths in the four-county area this week, either. 189 residents of the four-county area have passed away due to COVID-related illnesses since the pandemic began. Osceola county’s death total went down a while back, and then up the same number, which is thought to have been an adjustment and then a correction. Except for that change, the four-county death total hasn’t changed for several weeks. The totals are Lyon County – 41 deaths, Osceola 17, Sioux 74, and O’Brien County 57 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Two long-term care facilities in Iowa are reporting a COVID outbreak this week.
