November 2021 Slightly Warmer, Drier Than Normal

Sheldon, Iowa — November, 2021 was slightly warmer than normal, but still a tad cooler than November last year.

The warmest temperature reading in Sheldon for the month was 68 degrees, which was recorded on November 7th. The average high temperature for last month was 47 degrees, that’s some 2 degrees warmer than average, but still 3 degrees cooler than November 2020.

As for low temperatures, our coolest low temperature this year was 10 degrees, recorded on both November 25th and 26th. The average low for the month was 26 degrees, or some 2 degrees warmer than normal, and equal to the average low temperature during November of 2020.

We had well-below normal precipitation fall on Sheldon during November of this year, receiving just 0.29 inches of precip, which is 0.69 inches below the normal precipitation for November of 0.98 inches. We were also WELL below the normal snowfall totals for November. In a normal November we see 3.30 inches of the white stuff, but this November we measured just 0.25 inches of snow, or 3.05 inches BELOW normal.
