NWS Meteorologist: Winter Weather Should Hold Off A Bit Longer

Northwest Iowa — Here in northwest Iowa, we’ve been quite spoiled by the weather we’ve seen lately…above normal temperatures and, so far, just one-quarter inch of snow. But we know it can’t last. Or can it?

Matt Dux is a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, and he says they’re not forecasting wintry weather for us in the near future.

Dux says it even looks good for us a little further out.

With just one-quarter inch of snow falling on Sheldon so far this season you might think this is an abnormally dry November. But Dux says it’s not as unusual as you might think.

And speaking of snow, at this point Dux says our chances of having a white Christmas this year are about 50-50.
