O’Brien County Public Health To Hold Mass COVID Vaccination Clinics

O’Brien County, Iowa — O’Brien County Public Health has received 600 doses of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine and have scheduled mass vaccination clinics in Primghar and Sheldon over the next week.

According to O’Brien County Emergency Management Coordinator Jared Johnson, additional doses of the Moderna vaccine are also expected to arrive next week. Mass vaccination clinics have been scheduled in Primghar and Sheldon, but there is a limited amount of vaccine available and online pre-registration is required.

The mass vaccination clinics are scheduled as follows:

This Saturday, April 10th at the O’Brien County Courthouse, 155 S Hayes Ave., Primghar, IA 51245. The vaccine administered will be the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine.

Monday, April 12th at the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center, 301 34th Ave., Sheldon, IA 51201. Vaccines available will be the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, as well as the 1st dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Those opting to receive the Moderna vaccine will be informed during their appointment when they need to return for their second dose.

Thursday, April 15th at the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center in Sheldon. The vaccine administered at this mass vaccination clinic will be the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

Any individual 18 years of age or older that would like to receive the COVID-19 vaccine are eligible to sign-up.
