O’Brien Courthouse Moving To Phase 2 Of Reopening Plan

Primghar, Iowa — The O’Brien County Board of Supervisors has announced that they are moving to what is called “Phase 2” of the courthouse reopening plan as of this Wednesday morning.

According to O’Brien County Emergency Management Director Jared Johnson, during Phase 2 of the O’Brien County Courthouse Reopening Plan, there are a number of guidelines to follow.

• The east entrance will be open to the general public. The west entrance is an employee entrance.

•Courthouse Hours: 9:00 am to 2:30 pm (east entrance open)

▪ Each visitor will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.

▪ During the screening process, each visitor’s temperature will be taken.

• Between the hours of 8:00 am – 9:00 am and 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm, visitors will need an appointment.

• A courthouse staff member will allow visitor entry at the east entrance.

• Visitors are required to wear a face mask in the courthouse.
• The public is encouraged to use alternate methods to do business with the courthouse offices: online, by phone, or use the outside dropbox.
• Visitors need to maintain six feet social distancing while waiting to receive assistance.
• A list of the county department phone numbers will be provided at the east and west entrance; phone numbers are also available on the O’Brien County website: www.obriencounty.org
• Please leave the courthouse in a timely manner after you have completed your business.
