Sheldon, Iowa — Iowa High School Solo and Ensemble Contest was held at Sioux Central High School in Sioux Rapids Saturday, and Sheldon students had a pretty good day.
The Orab instrumentalists receiving Division I, or Superior, ratings included: Libby Ven Huizen for her french horn solo; Olivia Reiser for her flute solo; Brian Nilles for his marimba solo; and Madeline Gude for her clarinet solo.
Division II, or Excellent, ratings went to: Darshan Patel for his trombone solo; Lexie Merley and Jesse Hickman for their Violin-Cello duet; and Lexie Merley for her trupmet solo. Eric Heibult earned a Division III, or Good, rating for his trumpet solo.
