Waukee, Iowa — The overnight towns for the annual all-Iowa bike ride, RAGBRAI has been announced, and this year, the ride will start in Orange City.
People gathered at Vibrant Music Hall in Waukee, Iowa on Saturday night for the route announcement party.
RAGBRAI officials say that not only will Orange City be the starting town, Milford will be the second town. So the route is likely to come through part of O’Brien County and maybe a little of Osceola County, depending on where the pass-through towns turn out to be. Those will be announced in April, along with the full route.
Overnight towns will include Milford, Estherville, Forest City, Iowa Falls, Cedar Falls, and Oelwein, with the ride ending in Guttenberg on the Mississippi River.
They say this will be the second-shortest route and sixth flattest ever RAGBRAI, with 406 miles in the route and 10,487 feet of climb.
Orange City has been a pass-through town several times, but has only been the starting town one other time — in 2017.
