Osceola County Relay For Life Is Tonight

Sibley, Iowa — The 2017 Osceola County Relay for Life will take place tonight (Friday, August 4th) in Sibley.

Honorary Chairs of this year’s Osceola County Relay for Life are Dave Lorch of May City, Brian Dreesen of Sibley, and Nelvina Popkes of Sibley.  Each of the three will share their journey with cancer, and the reasons why they relay.

Several great teams will have food items, like grilled burgers, hot dogs, coneys, walking tacos, pizza, along with two items that are VERY popular every year: cheesecake and Lantern coffee and famous popcorn balls!

Organizers say games will be played, including bottle flip contests, cornhole competition, scavenger hunt, and a frozen t-shirt contest.

A Silent Auction is planned for this year’s Osceola County Relay for Life, along with the auction of a TV by Team Trinity.

Organizers invite you to take advantage of the beautiful evening, come walk a few laps around the track, Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back in the war against cancer.

The Osceola County Relay for Life will be held at the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School Track, with gates opening at 5:00 this afternoon, and the Opening Ceremony scheduled for 7:00.  The 2017 Osceola County Relay for Life will culminate with the Luminaria Ceremony, which will be held at dusk.
