UPDATE: O’Brien & Osceola County Teens FOUND In Idaho

Northwest Iowa — The two northwest Iowa 17-year-olds who had been the subject of a search since disappearing from Sheldon High School Monday morning, have been found in Idaho.

O’Brien County Sheriff Bruce Devereaux tells KIWA that 17-year-olds Paije Bergstrom and Dakota Menter are safe and in the custody of Idaho authorities.

Authorities say Bergstrom and Menter had parked behind a homeless shelter in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. According to Devereaux, someone called police to report their car as a suspicious vehicle. He says when Idaho officers arrived to check on the car, they contacted the girls and when running a computer check on the car’s license plate number, discovered that Iowa authorities were searching for the pair.

Devereaux says the pair were taken into custody by Coeur D’Alene police and are being held in a juvenile facility until they can be picked up.

Both Devereaux and his Osceola County counterpart, Sheriff Kevin Wollmuth, expressed their gratitude for everyone who assisted in their investigation.
