Plea Taking Scheduled In Felony Drug Case

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A plea taking hearing is scheduled for one of the two George area defendants charged with possession of drugs, with intent to deliver.

Court records indicate that 46-year old Shannon Nagel, and 38-year old Sheila Nagel are both charged with Possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a class B felony; Possession with intent to deliver marijuana and Failure to affix a drug tax stamp, both class D felonies; Possession of a controlled substance- methamphetamine and Possession of a controlled substance- marijuana, both serious misdemeanors; and Possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports the charges stem from a search warrant carried out at a rural George residence in late July.

According to online court records, a plea taking has been set for 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3rd, in Lyon County District Court at Rock Rapids for Shannon Nagel. Online court records say both entered written pleas of not guilty in August. The records say the next scheduled court appearance for Sheila Nagel is the trial, which is scheduled for October 11th.
