Republican Presidential Hopeful Bobby Jindal Visits Area

Sheldon, Iowa — Louisiana Governor and Republican Presidential hopeful Bobby Jindal, along with his wife, made an Independence Day weekend swing through northwest Iowa, with stops at two northwest Iowa firearms manufacturing facilities, Capital Armaments in Sibley and JARD, Inc. at Sheldon.

During his visit to Sheldon, Jindal told those assembled that federal government spending is out of control.  He said that the increase in government spending doesn’t need to slowed, but that the size of government needs to be reduced.

The fact that two of Jindal’s northwest Iowa visits took place in firearms factories brought up the subject of Second Amendment rights.

Governor Jindal also took aim at President Obama, saying he doesn’t think the President respects the rights of the citizens of this country.

Jindal says that Obama lied when trying to sell Obamacare to the American public, and believes that it needs to be repealed and replaced.  He says he’s the only candidate with a specific plan to accomplish that.

Jindal and his wife left Sheldon late Friday afternoon for an appearance in Spencer. The Governor also said he and his wife would be riding in a couple of Independence Day parades on Saturday.
