Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley man was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after a farm accident west of Rock Valley on Tuesday.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 6:20 AM, emergency responders were called to 1725 310th Street, which is seven miles west of Rock Valley.
It is believed that 27-year-old Eduardo Martinez of Rock Valley was driving a Bobcat CT445 farm tractor pulling a trailer. Twenty-six-year-old Yansel Martinez of Rock Valley is believed to have been riding on the front of the trailer when he fell off and was struck by a wheel on the trailer.
Yansel Martinez was transported by the Rock Valley Ambulance to Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley for treatment of serious injuries. He was later flown by Sanford AirMed Helicopter to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Rock Valley Police Department assisted as well.
