Sheldon, Iowa — Adoption of the Sheldon Community School District Calendar for the 2017-18 school year will be on the agenda when the Sheldon School Board meets in regular session Monday evening.

In other action, the Board is scheduled to discuss a proposal for improvements to the East Elementary playground area with Excellence For East Committee parents.
School Superintendent Robin Spears intends to seek the Board’s permission to investigate the possibility of replacing the pickup truck used by the District’s Building and Grounds crew. The truck currently in service is more than 20 years old, with well in excess of 100-thousand miles. Spears will ask permission to look into a used pickup to replace the current vehicle. The Board is also set to consider the purchase of a new school bus for the District.
The School Board will also take up a pair of Open Enrollment Applications, deal with two employee resignations, and approve three employment contracts during Monday’s meeting.
Monday’s December regular meeting of the Sheldon Community Schools Board of Education will begin at 5 pm in the high school library.
