Self-Pour Taproom “Backyard Brew” Celebrates With Ribbon Cutting

Sheldon, Iowa — A new establishment in eastern Sheldon has celebrated with a ribbon cutting.

Backyard Brew had the ribbon cutting on Thursday evening, November 7th. At the ceremony, Sheldon Chamber and Development Director Tania Herrera Gonzales spoke on behalf of the City of Sheldon.

Co-owner Joel Bousma tells us about the concept.

He tells us they check your ID and get payment set up when you walk in.

He gives us an idea of their current offerings.

He says there are a number of Iowa brews in the mix.

Bousma assures us that if you just want a Busch Light, that to is available just like all the rest.

According to Bousma, they’re open Monday through Thursday 4:00 until 10:00 p.m.; Fridays until 11:00, and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. He says it’s a great place to watch the game.

He tells us when the weather warms back up again next spring, they’ve got some great things planned.

They also have appetizers, pizza, and more, and are located at 260 34th Avenue in Sheldon. That’s south of McDonalds, Holiday Inn Express, and the Cobblestone Inn, near the Crossroads Pavilion.
