Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon IA 4 Sheldon TX campaign has already produced one semi-load of relief for the citizens of Sheldon, Texas. After watching a Facebook live feed of this afternoon’s press conference announcing the campaign, a full semi-trailer load of drinking water has been purchased by a group of Sheldon residents. It’s a great start to a campaign that OFFICIALLY starts this coming Tuesday, September 5th.
Sheldon, Iowa — At a press conference held Friday afternoon at the Sheldon Community Services Center, plans were unveiled for a city-wide campaign to help victims of Hurricane Harvey in one community in the Houston, Texas metroplex.

Meendering announced the “adoption” of Sheldon, Texas during Friday’s press conference.
She says donations will be accepted beginning Tuesday.
In addition to dropping off items at the trailer in the Community Building parking lot, Sheldon’s Hy-Vee and Fareway stores will have a list of the items that are needed. And each store will be offfering the items on the list at a reduced price as part of the campaign. Just go to either Fareway or Hy-Vee in Sheldon, tell them that you want to purchase some of the items on the list, pay the store the reduced price, and they’ll collect the merchandise. Sheldon city crews will then pick-up the palleted donations from each store and get them on the semi-trailer loaded for Sheldon, Texas.
Mayor Meendering offered a partial list of the items that are needed.
