Sheldon American Legion Post 145 Makes Donation To Honor Flight Network

Sheldon, Iowa — An explanation of the Midwest Honor Flight led to Sheldon’s American Legion Post 145 donating a check to the organization.

Midwest Honor Flight is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. They transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.

Sheldon American Legion Post 145’s Jeremy Beenken tells KIWA that Aaron Van Beek came to Legion meetings, and discussed with the Legion members how everything worked with the Honor Flights. Afterward, Beenken says the American Legion post 145 was honored to donate a check for $1000.00 to the Midwest Honor Flight.

Beenken says it’s a privilege to be able to help such a great organization that has taken some of our local veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials and other historical sites.

2nd Vice Commander of Post 145, Merlin Beerman presented the check to Van Beek on behalf of Post 145.
