Sheldon, Iowa — Anyone in the area with an unused wheelchair sitting around the house now has a place to get rid of that chair, and help a veteran in the process.
The Sheldon American Legion Post is seeking donations of wheelchairs to help some of their older members. Jeremy Beenken of the American Legion explains.
He says there are couple of different ways that you can get your old chairs to the American Legion.
Beenken stressed that the American Legion isn’t asking people to go out and buy new wheelchairs to donate, but says that this is a good opportunity for area residents to get rid of old chairs that are no longer being used, and give them to be used for a good cause.
