Sheldon Homecoming Is This Week

Sheldon, Iowa — It’s Homecoming week at Sheldon High School. Students are busy with many activities leading up to the big football game on Friday night.

The Sheldon Community Schools have different themes for each day this week, along with various activities. Monday is Pajama Day. There’s also volleyball and football action, with the ninth grade volleyball team playing at the Spirit Lake Tournament and the JV volleyball team playing at the Spencer Tournament. The freshman/sophomore football team will be playing South O’Brien at home.

Tuesday is “Tis The Season Day,” where students will be wearing Christmas-themed apparel. Activities on Tuesday will include the Sheldon Cross Country Meet at Northwest Iowa Community College, and Coronation. The special speaker will be 3-time Olympic athlete and Sheldon native A.G. Kruger, who competed in the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Olympic Games as a hammer thrower.

The Friday homecoming football opponent will be the Lions of Central Lyon-George/Little Rock.
