The first public hearing will be to consider rezoning the property at 730 Western Avenue from light industrial to residential multiple. Crossroads Community Church is in the process of purchasing this property which is the former Data Dimensions building.
The second public hearing will be to change the zoning of the area along Highway 18 west of the new Hy-vee Store. This is currently zoned Light Industrial, but because it is an ideal location for a commercial business, it is proposed that it be changed to Arterial Commercial. Sheldon’s Development Director Mark Gaul tells KIWA that there is no specific business prospect for this location, but he expects that there will be in the future.
Wednesday’s Planning and Zoning Commission meeting will be held at 4:30 in Council Chambers of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
