Sheldon Police Charge 13-Year-Old Boy With Serious Assault; Deal With Other Incidents, Handle Accident

The Police charged a 13-year-old boy from Sheldon on Friday (6/21/13) with Serious Assault. He was released to his mother on a referal to juvenile court.

Sheldon officers took the report of an assault at the trailer court on West Seventh Street on Saturday (6/22/13). Arrested on an OWI charge was 26-year-old Glenda Barrios of Sheldon. Arrested on an Assault charge was 27-year-old Luis DeJesus. Both were taken into custody and transported to jail in Primghar.

On Monday (6/24/13) the Police say they took a report of a tire being punctured on Pleasant Court Drive. It was reported to have happened sometime on Sunday or Monday. The tire was valued at $100.

A Sheldon man’s car and a Sheldon woman’s SUV were damaged in an accident on Tuesday, June 18 in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 5:40 PM, 35-year-old Abel Espino-Palma of Sheldon was westbound on Highway 18 in a 1999 Oldsmobile. Twenty-five-year-old Jessica Klein of Sheldon was also westbound on 18 behind Espina-Palma in a 2003 Chevy.

Espino-Palma was stopped in the inside lane, waiting to turn left onto Normal College Avenue. Klein reports she was distracted by her phone and didn’t see the stopped car, and struck it.

Espino-Palma’s Oldsmobile received $1000 damage. Klein’s Chevy received $4000 damage.

There were no injuries reported.

Klien was ticketed for Failure To Have Control. Espino-Palma was charged with No Driver’s License
