Sheldon School Board to Meet Today

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Community Schools Board of Education will meet in regular session this afternoon at 5:00 in the high school library.

Among the agenda items to be discussed are practicum and student teaching agreement considerations with Northwestern and Morningside Colleges, open enrollments, and contracts offered. Each of the schools will update the Board on staffing changes and preparations for the upcoming school year. Open house at the elementary and middles schools will be help on Wednesday, August 21st from 5:00 – 6:30 pm, and there will be a device roll-out meeting for middle and high school students and parents at the high school on Thursday, August 15th at 5:30 pm.

Superintendent Cory Myer is expected to brief the Board on the cash reserve levy, online school registration, and the introduction of the district’s new app for parents, among other things.

In other business, the 2019-20 bus routes will be reviewed and the possibility of transportation for pre-school students will be discussed.

Today’s meeting begins at 5:00 in the High School Library.
