Sheldon Schools Lift Mask Mandate

Sheldon, Iowa — Effective immediately, the Sheldon Community Schools is lifting their mask mandate.

A special meeting of the Sheldon School Board that was held in late September culminated in a mandate requiring all students and teachers in grades K through 12 to wear masks at any time that social distancing isn’t possible. That mask mandate went into effect on Monday, October 5th.

This Wednesday night (April 14th) the Sheldon School Board voted to rescind that mask mandate.

Sheldon Superintendent Cory Myer says the District is still RECOMMENDING that masks be worn, they are no longer requiring teachers and students to wear them.
