Sheldon United Methodist Summer Meal Program Planned To Start May 26

Sheldon, Iowa — A program that provides a meal to students and adults throughout the summer months is going to be starting up again soon in Sheldon.

Michelle Noack, who is the Children’s Ministry Coordinator at the Sheldon United Methodist Church tells us about the program.

The Sheldon Community Schools will be providing summer food too this year. We asked Noack if that fact went into their decision-making.

She tells us people have given donations to the program and they get funding other ways as well.

Noack tells us that’s another reason they decided to go ahead and offer the meals — is that the funding was lined up.

If you want to volunteer, Noack says they’d appreciate a call so that they have the right number of volunteers every day. She says too many or too few volunteers are both issues they’d like to avoid. You can reach the church at 712-324-4894.

Again, the meals will begin Wednesday, May 26th at the Sheldon United Methodist Church.
