Sheriff’s Office After Arrest: Inspect Your Property For Missing Items

Rock Rapids, Iowa — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is looking for possible victims of theft after an arrest early on Saturday, July 28th.

They report that their deputies arrested 21-year-old Alex McIlvenna of Rock Rapids, on charges of burglary of a motor vehicle, an aggravated misdemeanor; and attempted burglary of a motor vehicle, a serious misdemeanor. Lyon County K9 Rizzo assisted in the investigation.

McIlvenna is accused of burglaries in eastern Rock Rapids. Sheriff’s deputies suspect there may be additional victims and they are asking the public to closely inspect their property to see if anything is missing.

The sheriff’s office is also looking for clothing and personal property that McIlvenna got rid of between the time of the burglary and his arrest.
