Sibley City Administrator Resigns To Take Position In Mora, MN

Sibley, Iowa — The City of Sibley has lost its City Administrator, as he is taking a position in Minnesota.

Sixty-year-old Rock Rapids native Glenn Anderson, the former administrator, tells us his last day was Thursday, March 10th. He says he’s leaving to become the new City Administrator in Mora, Minnesota. Mora is a slightly bigger town than Sibley, with Mora’s population at almost 3500 compared to Sibley’s roughly 2600 residents, but he tells us there is a more personal reason for his departure. His wife Shelly has a similar position in a much bigger city.

He says it’s a position she’s held for nearly 20 years. Meanwhile, Glenn Anderson has been the Lyon County Economic Development Director and, for the last eight years, the Sibley City Administrator.

Anderson says he thinks Sibley will benefit as well.

He says he had a great time in Sibley.

Anderson says his prediction is that the City of Sibley will hire internally for the City Administrator position and move people up in the order.
