Sioux Center, Iowa — Over $30,000 has been distributed to Sioux Center projects.
Sioux Center Community Foundation officials tell us the organization has awarded its 2025 Generations Grants. This year, the foundation is distributing $32,000.
Promise Community Health has received $3,400 for a blood pressure machine & stand. Rising Arrows received $5,000 for a summer program with the library. The Sioux Center Fire Department got $5,000 toward equipment upgrades. The Sioux Center Police Department got $4,600 toward police ballistic shields. The Sioux Center Christian School received $5,000 for an outdoor activity court.
They tell us $4,400 was given to NW Iowa Baby Shower for baby items. Immigrant Connection of NW Iowa got $4,600 for office set-up, consisting of computers and furniture.
Foundation officials say these organizations were recognized in a ceremony on Wednesday, April 30th.
To celebrate Sioux Center’s 125th anniversary in 2016, the Sioux Center Community Foundation provided $125,000 in initial funding for the Generations Community Endowment Fund. Since that time, earnings from the endowment have been used to provide $264,431 in grants to Sioux Center non-profit organizations. Grants are awarded annually to support creative and innovative programs, current or emerging charitable opportunities, services not presently offered, and occasional capital projects – all of which they say enhance the quality of life in the Sioux Center community.
