Special Sheldon Iowa Rocks Event Going On Today

Sheldon, Iowa — A group that began with just a few members about two years ago has exploded in membership, and Sheldon Iowa Rocks is hosting a large rock search today.

The group’s founder, Angi Kramme, says she can’t believe how the group, who paints and hides rocks around town, has grown in such a short time.

Overnight last night, the group put out about 850 painted rocks throughout the city of Sheldon. She says there are several other Rocks organizations around the area, and she thought this would be a fun way to bring them together for a day.

We asked Kramme why her group elected to put the rocks out during the dead of night last night.

Kramme won’t tell us where the rocks ARE hidden, but she agreed to tell us where they’re NOT.

She says the rocks have all been put out, and she offers a challenge to those looking for them today.

Among the rocks that were put out in Sheldon last night, Kramme says there are a handful of special rocks.

She says have fun searching for the rocks, and asks that you please get a photo of yourself and the rock you found, and post it on the Sheldon Iowa Rocks Facebook page. You can also visit the Facebook page for more information.

Kramme says today’s activity isn’t about hide and seek, it’s all about spreading joy and kindness.
