Sheldon, Iowa — During Wednesday night’s Sheldon City Council meeting, plans were announced to expand Sudbeck Trucking by adding a large truck storage facility that will add several new jobs.
Sheldon Community Development Director Curt Strouth describes the Sudbeck project.
Strouth says there will be a significant number of jobs created as a result of the Sudbeck project.
He says the project will not just add jobs, but high-quality, high-paying jobs.
As part of their announcement, Strouth says Sudbeck Trucking asked the Sheldon City Council for a TIF tax rebate to help facilitate the expansion project, and the Council approved a 5-year, sliding scale, tax rebate.
Strouth says that, in year six, Sudbeck Trucking would begin paying 100-percent of the annual tax of some $17,700.
