Thursday Severe Storm Outlook

Northwest Iowa — The risk for severe weather later today has trended slightly eastward.

Overall, the threat for thunderstorms very late this afternoon or evening is fairly small. IF thunderstorms manage to develop along an advancing cold front across parts of southwest MN and northwest IA toward early evening, an isolated storm could become severe.

Very warm and windy today with a few thunderstorms possible late this afternoon into the evening. Isolated severe storms will be possible as well , but the better chances will be just east of the area. A fairly strong cold front will usher in below normal temperatures Friday into early next week with Saturday looking like the coolest day with highs in the 50s.
