Orab 5th Graders Sending Cards To Soldiers Deployed In Africa

Sheldon, Iowa — A pair of Sheldon middle school students have found a tangible way to show their support for the U.S. Military, by sending thank you letters and cards to troops deployed in Africa.

Kamron Kleinhesselink and Andyn Bucher wanted to write to these troops in Africa because Kleinhesselink’s brother is currently a field medic in Africa. In addition Bucher says he had two uncles that have served in the Army and he wants to show his support to the military.

(As above) “Well, because I had two uncles deployed in the Army. And I have a brother, Travis, who is currently serving in Africa as a Combat Medic.”

Kleinhesselink says he and Bucher decided to undertake this project around the end of November and on December 9, 2020 they showed a presentation to their class and began writing cards to the troops in Africa to thank them for the service.

(As above) “We decided to make it at the end of November. And today we showed our presentation and we are making cards today.”

The two young men are 5th Graders at Sheldon Middle School.
