Upper Des Moines, Other Food Pantries Could Use Donations

Northwest Iowa — November is National Homelessness and Hunger Awareness Month. Several food pantries are available in northwest Iowa to help people who need food. One of those is in Primghar.

Brenda Collier with Upper Des Moines Opportunity in Primghar tells us about their food pantry.

Collier tells us they are in need of some items at this time.

She says that means that they are not limited to non-perishable food items. Collier says they depend on the community to donate food for their food pantry.

According to Collier, fall is a busy time, not only due to the holidays, but they have people coming in and applying for energy assistance at this time as well, and many of them could use some help with food as well. For more information, you can call Upper Des Moines at 712-957-1023.

There are many other food pantries in northwest Iowa. Call a food pantry near you to see what they have to offer or to offer something to them.
