Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon business is moving and expanding.
We talked to Amy Doppenberg, who along with her sisters, Kim Heynen, Lisa Vande Kamp, and Jill Van Essen run Uptown Threads in Sheldon. She tells us about their business.
(as said:) “We are a consignment shop, which means that we take in items from our consignors. We sort through them. We price them and put them on the floor to sell for our customers.”
She says they will be moving into the old “A Country Florist” building downtown around the middle of September. Doppenberg tells us at this time, they don’t believe they’ll have to close the store to move the inventory.
But, Doppenberg says they will be expanding their business.
(as said:) “We are going to be taking consigned furniture and home décor. It needs to be within 10 years old. So no vintage [or] antique furniture.”
According to Doppenberg, they will be accepting updated, newer-style furniture when they move to their new location.
Customers and consignors can check the Uptown Threads Facebook page (search for Uptown Threads – a Consignment Boutique) or call them at 712-324-2288 for more information and the guidelines for consigning furniture and home décor.
