Primghar, Iowa — It’s ironic, but the fireworks that we use to celebrate the freedom that our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines protect — can sometimes have the unintended consequence of triggering a response in those we are honoring.
Katie Ginger is the O’Brien County Veterans’ Service Officer. She tells us about the effect fireworks sometimes have on those with post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD.
She tells us why fireworks can be an issue.
