Van Den Brink Replaces Brown On VNU Board

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon businessman has been selected to serve on a local board of directors.

Village Northwest Unlimited officials tell us that Dave Van Den Brink has been elected to serve a three-year term on the Village’s Board of Directors. They tell us that Van Den Brink has been an Ag/Business Banking Officer at Peoples Bank in Sheldon for 16 years.

Village President and CEO Barry Whitsell says, “We are pleased to welcome Dave Van Den Brink to the Village Board. Dave’s depth of business experience and perspective as a parent will be invaluable as we pursue the Village mission of Purpose, Privacy, and Dignity for people served at the Village.”

Van Den Brink will take the place of retiring board member Heidi Brown of Sheldon. Brown served on the VNU board for 9 years since being elected in 2012.

Whitsell says, “When it comes to serving with passion, dedication and commitment, Heidi Brown, would be one of those people who would rise to the top of any list. Heidi’s commitment to the Village and the people we serve goes beyond the boardroom and is on full display in the community through her interactions and involvement with Village residents and we will miss her spirit and enthusiasm on the Village Board.”

In addition, two current board members; Chad Petitt of Sheldon and Marvin Lindley of Sheldon were re-elected to the Board of Directors. Each of them will serve another three-year term.
