Accident near Boyden sends one to the hospital

Boyden, Iowa – A motor vehicle accident Saturday southwest of Boyden sent one person to the hospital.

The Sioux County Sherriff’s Office tells us the accident occurred on Jackson Avenue, three miles southwest of Boyden. 23-year-old Thomas Varady of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was driving a 2018 GMC Savana Cutaway northbound on Jackson Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the east ditch where the vehicle rolled onto the passenger side of the vehicle.

Varady was transported by the Boyden Ambulance to Orange City Area Health for treatment of his injuries. The GMC sustained approximately $13,000 in damages. The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Boyden Fire Department and the Boyden Ambulance.
