Sibley, Iowa — This is Blood Donor Month, and your next chance to donate is coming up next week Thursday in Sibley.
The Sioux Falls Community Blood Bank will be holding its next blood drive on Thursday, January 18th, 2024 at the Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley. They ask you to take some time out of your day and give the gift of life, because the life you save may be someone you know.
Hospital staff ask you to please call the Osceola Regional Health Center to make an appointment at 712-754-5358.
Community Blood Bank Executive Director Ken VerSteeg gives us the guidelines.
They tell us you can donate blood every 56 days. And if you donate blood for this blood drive, they’ll give you a $10 Subway gift card.
Staff at Osceola Regional Hospital tell us that due to COVID-19, appointments are mandatory. And unlike other blood drives, for this one they want you to call the hospital to make your appointment, instead of contacting the blood bank. That number again is 712-754-5358.
Hospital officials tell us the Community Blood Bank is the sole supplier of all blood and blood products for Osceola Regional Health Center.
They say that no hospitals in our area, including Osceola Regional Health Center receive any blood or blood products from the American Red Cross.
