Crop protection doesn’t end in the field

IARN – We talk about what we need to do to protect our crops in the fields. We use various tools meant to protect our hard work from weeds, disease, and insects. We invest a lot of money into the plants we grow in the field and don’t want to see that investment endangered. However it’s not the corn and soybean plants that make us the money, but rather the seeds that they produce. We don’t sell bushels of bean pods or corn silks, we sell grain. So why are farmers putting so much not crop protection in the fields, but not thinking about crop protection in the bin?
