Primghar, Iowa — Early voting is underway in Iowa for the general election coming up on November 5th.
Both parties, as has recently been the case, are encouraging all voters to vote early, as life is uncertain and no one knows if you’ll be sick, what the weather might be like on election day, or what else might come up. O’Brien County Auditor Barb Rohwer tells us their office is open on weekdays — and one Saturday before the election — so you can vote early.
She reminds us that there is no such thing as a take-home ballot. If you want to vote at home, you need to request — on a special form — that a ballot be mailed to you. Rohwer tells us how long you have to return your ballot if you request a ballot be mailed to you.
She says if you are still thinking about asking for a ballot to be mailed to you — you’re almost out of time and need to act now.
In addition to President and Vice President, and Fourth District US Representative, Rohwer says there are other races on O’Brien County ballots as well.
This will be Rohwer’s last election serving as Auditor and Commissioner of Elections, as she is running unopposed for O’Brien County Supervisor, District 2.
Rohwer made her comments on the KIWA Talk of the Town Program, which can be heard on weekday mornings at 8:30 on KIWA-FM 105.3. We also post a podcast of every Talk of The Town Program, and you can find those by clicking here.
