Ireton, Iowa — A machine shed was damaged in a fire on Saturday morning, November 30th near Ireton.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 10:55 a.m., they received a 9-1-1 report of a machine shed that was on fire at 4237 Fig Avenue, five and one-half miles northeast of Ireton.
The Ireton Fire Department responded and upon arrival, discovered the machine shed fully engulfed in flames. They extinguished the flames with the help of the Hawarden Fire Department, Sioux Center Fire Department, Hull Fire Department, Alton Fire Department, Maurice Fire Department, Orange City Fire Department, Rock Valley Fire Department, the Ireton Ambulance Squad, and the Sioux Center Police Department. Fire department personnel were also by assisted by North West Rural Electric Cooperative (North West REC).
The sheriff’s office says the shed and contents were a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
